Excitement is building for the Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2025, set to kick off at the beautiful Sabarmati Riverfront on November 13. This iconic venue is gearing up to become a vibrant hub of books, culture, and creativity, all thanks to this fantastic literary event.
Recently, a preparatory meeting took place, led by Shri Yuvraj Malik, the Director of the National Book Trust (NBT) India, along with Municipal Commissioner Shri Banchhanidhi Pani, to discuss the festival plans. The officials went over some key points, such as how to manage the venue, schedule author sessions, involve publishers, and improve visitor facilities, all to ensure a seamless and memorable experience for everyone attending.
The Ahmedabad International Book Festival has firmly established itself as a highlight in the city’s cultural calendar, with a mission to inspire a love for reading and promote lifelong learning among people of all ages. This initiative takes its cue from the ‘Vanche Gujarat’ campaign, which was started by the then Chief Minister and now Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, aiming to cultivate an intellectually rich society through reading.
For many years, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has organized an annual book fair, which was rebranded last year as the Ahmedabad International Book Festival to give it a more international flair and encourage greater participation.
This year’s festival will include literary sessions, opportunities to interact with authors.
