New Parking Policy at Vadodara Airport: Three-Wheelers Banned, Revised Charges Effective

Vadodara: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced the implementation of a new vehicle parking management system at Vadodara Airport, effective Sunday, under its revised parking policy. As part of the update, three-wheelers (auto-rickshaws) will no longer be permitted to enter the airport premises.

The parking management contract has been awarded to M/s S S Multiservices, which commenced operations on the same day.

According to Airport Director M. S. I. Dawood, the revised parking framework aims to enhance passenger convenience, streamline vehicular movement, and improve overall operational efficiency within the airport premises.

“The new parking system is designed to ensure smoother traffic flow, reduce congestion, and create a more passenger-friendly experience,” Dawood stated.

Revised Parking Tariff Structure

As per the new tariff schedule, parking fees are categorized by vehicle type and duration of stay:

For the first 30 minutes:

  • Two-wheelers: ₹10
  • Private cars/SUVs (up to 7 seats): ₹30
  • Commercial cars: ₹43
  • Tempos/SUVs/Minibuses (over 7 seats): ₹60
  • Coaches/Buses/Trucks: ₹170

For 30 to 120 minutes:

  • Two-wheelers: ₹15
  • Private cars/SUVs: ₹40
  • Commercial cars: ₹98
  • Tempos/SUVs/Minibuses: ₹80
  • Coaches/Buses/Trucks: ₹250

After two hours, four-wheelers will be charged an additional ₹10 per hour, and two-wheelers ₹5 per hour. Parking beyond seven hours and up to 24 hours will incur charges equivalent to three times the 30-minute rate.

Additionally, privately registered vehicles will be exempted from parking charges for pickup and drop-off if they exit the airport premises within eight minutes of entry.

Access Restrictions

Under the new policy, three-wheelers are prohibited from entering the airport area. The move is intended to decongest the terminal approach road and ensure smoother vehicular flow during passenger pick-up and drop-off periods.

Designated pickup and drop-off zones for other modes of transport remain operational outside the main terminal access area.

Objective of the New Policy

The initiative forms part of the AAI’s broader plan to modernize airport infrastructure and improve ground traffic management systems across its network. By adopting automated and structured parking mechanisms, Vadodara Airport aims to offer passengers a safer, faster, and more organized experience.
